Grace Place Hawai'i Arts Programs (Grades 3–12)

Grace Place Hawai'i offers high-quality arts education for students in grades 3–12 through engaging twice-weekly classes or individualized private lessons taught by our experienced team of professional artists and educators. Students may enroll in Ukulele, Voice, Guitar, Hula, Acting, Ipu Carving, Painting, Videography, and Instrument Making, with instruction designed to nurture creativity, skill development, and confidence in a supportive, encouraging environment.

 

Our programs are flexible and family-friendly, with classes and lessons offered at multiple locations across Windward OÊ»ahu and scheduled at convenient times tailored to each student’s needs. Whether your child is just beginning or looking to grow to the next level, Grace Place Hawai'i provides hands-on learning, small group instruction, and personal mentorship that helps students discover and develop their God-given talents. Parents are invited to explore our offerings and register online to join our vibrant community of young artists.

🎵 Ukulele

Students learn proper technique, strumming patterns, chords, and simple songs while building a love for music through HawaiÊ»i’s signature instrument. Classes emphasize confidence, rhythm, and joyful music-making in both group and individual lesson settings.

🎤 Voice

Voice students develop healthy singing technique, pitch accuracy, breath control, and expressive performance skills. Instruction is tailored to each student’s age and experience, helping singers grow in confidence whether they’re beginners or advanced vocalists.

🎸 Guitar

Guitar classes focus on foundational skills such as chords, rhythm, finger placement, and reading chord charts, with opportunities to explore a variety of musical styles. Students build strong technique while learning to play songs they love.

🌺 Hula

Hula instruction introduces students to Hawaiian dance as both an art form and a way of storytelling, emphasizing rhythm, movement, and cultural understanding. Students learn foundational steps, hand motions, and mele in a respectful and engaging environment.

🎭 Acting

Acting classes help students grow in creativity, communication, and confidence through scene work, monologues, improvisation, and character development. Students learn to express themselves clearly while working collaboratively and building stage presence.

🪵 Ipu Carving

Students explore traditional Hawaiian instrument-making by learning to carve and prepare an ipu (gourd drum). This hands-on class blends craftsmanship, cultural appreciation, and creativity, guiding students through the full artistic process.

🎨 Painting

Painting classes teach foundational art skills such as color mixing, composition, and brush technique while encouraging students to develop their own artistic voice. Students work with a variety of subjects and styles inspired by nature and island life.

🎥 Videography

Videography students learn the basics of visual storytelling, camera operation, framing, and editing using accessible technology. This class encourages creativity while building practical skills for media, storytelling, and digital communication.

🎼 Instrument Making

In Instrument Making, students design and build simple stringed and percussion instruments while learning how sound is created. This creative, hands-on class blends art, music, and craftsmanship, inspiring curiosity and problem-solving.
